It was 29th of September 2021 when I started to feel overwhelmed with life. I felt like things for some reason had stopped moving in my favor.
I felt things kinder slowing down and I started to lose my patience with a lot of things as life started to get frustrating
But for some reason, I felt the Holy Spirit calling me to be around nature, and I was obedient to that leading
So, I took a day out with my closest cousin to the Kafue River
As I sat under the Patio umbrella in admiration of its beauty, a sense of peace fell in my spirit, and to be honest, it was what I needed in that moment.
Initially, I thought this trip was to restore a sense of peace in my life that I needed
Because I did enjoy myself, and it did restore my faith in the future and lifted off some loads of the stress I had been feeling
In my mind I thought that was the purpose of the trip.
It was only recently when I began to really reflect on the trip and why I felt a different kind of peace being around nature as compared to other places.
REVELATION
I remember as I sat down the scripture Mathew 6vs25-27 dropped in my spirit but I had brushed it off
It has only been now when the revelation was so clear to me and that I came to an understanding of what God was really trying to speak to me through my trip
Which was “OBEDIENCE” and “TIME AND SEASON”
OBEDIENCE
When will we come to a place of childlike faith as believers? were we obey every command that the Lord gives us?
As we look at nature and how every animal follows each instruction given to it by God based on its natural habitat
To how it’s supposed to care for its young and what specific food to eat.
Sometimes we look at some of the instructions that the Lord gives us to as little as just sit or move here or call this person, and choose to overlook them because we feel its too small of an instruction to come from God
Yet we forget that just like everything thing in life obedience also starts with a small simple instruction from God
And if we fail to follow that, how then will He trust us with more because every instruction from Him requires our faith even as small as a mustard seed Mathew 17vs20 ?
We normally don’t think of how much of a difference in someone’s life we would make just by us answering our call to serve
Mostly because we are too focused on how our calling will make us look to others who never placed the desire in our hearts to begin with
Or even move past the bigger picture of how much of our bloodline we are cursing because we fail to obey even the small instructions God gave us
And forget that it’s most likely that we might end up like Saul who unfortunately removed his generation from royalty and inheritance
All because he could not obey a simple instruction which was just TO WAIT (1 Samuel 15-17)
TIME AND SEASON
Ecclesiastes 3vs 1 –There’s a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.
Trees bear fruit when it’s their season, not all of them have the same season in which they bear fruit, but each at it’s appoint time does, there is a however, process to the fruit, there has to be the right amount of sunlight
Water, you name it, but most importantly they have to be placed in the right soil to receive the nutrients that they deserve
Which has me thinking, how many of us are often times uncomfortable in every season God places us in because our hearts aren’t being fed the right nutrients (scripture and prayer)
The beauty of observing nature is that you will learn to understand that regardless of what artificial or natural unfortunate circumstances come its way, it’s habits never change
Firmly rooted in the instruction that was given by the creator, the stars will only shine at night
A polar bear will only live-in cold climate regardless of global warming, how then must we fail to abide in the one instruction God gave us
“Believe in me and have faith that when you ask anything according to my will through my son Jesus, I will make it happen” (Paraphrase of Hebrews 11vs 6)
HE SPEAKS THROUGH HIS CREATION
We are constantly reminded in the bible how God spoke to this people through His creation (Moses with the burning bush “Exodus 3vs2”, Balaam and the donkey “Numbers 22vs 28”).
Being around nature will really reignite our wisdom and make us realize how fast pace we have become as a people that we fail to really slow down and adore our creator’s art work around us.
Like as we stare at the trees while being hit with the reality of the effortless of inhaling His living breath to stay alive
Or how his fresh waters never run dry regardless of the season, just like his love for us
Or as we look down on our feet and come to a realization that we are soul gifted with a body made by our creator that will one day return to the soil that it was made from
As our soul reunites with our Father in heaven.
Our God, the Father that constantly surrounds us and shows us care through every aspect of His creation.
Just like Abraham, He takes us to a land that He has already prepared for us to be restful in, a land that He has prepared for us to prosper in
But too many times fail to be obedient to His word of instruction when He tells us to move because we are so consumed by our on desire of what type of surrounding is best for us
And fail to take the example of a tree that still grows regardless of the location or country it’s in just as long as the right supply of nutrients are in the place it’s been firmed
When then shall we begin to trust that His presence has already gone before us and all we need to do is just follow it.
How we often ask for a thousand confirmations from Him and fail to be like the seed that blooms in which ever location it’s been planted regardless of being removed from the mother plant ( our family)
But so, we so often want to use our gifts in places we are familiar with or around people we know and often times
Forget that faith in God also means willing to be used as vessels in places that we will never be comfortable knowing that He is our comfort.
I tend to spend more time admiring God’s creation because there is nothing humbling and satisfying knowing that His creations don’t just end with the human race
Life is so much bigger than us, as I sit and wonder how everything is so different but yet all connect to one source our HEAVENLY FATHER.
