4 PRAYERS FOR THE BROKEN-HEARTED

One of the most painful times in our Christian journey is facing trials and tribulations of this world that leave us feeling empty, broken and abandoned in our time of grief.

A need to pick up the phone and call someone in hopes that they will understand how we feel and pray that an answer of peace and comfort awaits us on the other side of that call.

Even in the time of uncertainty and what sometimes feels like God has taken His hands of us because of how distant we feel from Him being that our heart is filled with brokenness and pain

 I believe it is the best time to get stronger in prayer and faith and believe that what is happening in our lives is only but a temporal situation

And He is a faithful God who will bring us out of every dark situation we face

 Just like the bible says in Hebrews 13vs8 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever” NIV.

Perhaps you’re reading this going through a dark situation right now and if you are, trust me, He sees you and today I urge you to start a conversation with Him

 Only He can truly understand you and know exactly how you feel as the bible tells us in Romans 12vs 12 ESV “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer ESV

Just trust that He is able to lift you out of your hardship if you have faith that He will.

WHAT DOES GOD SAY ABOUT THE BROKEN HEART?

The bible in the book of Psalms 34vs 18 encourages us that “The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart and saves those who are crushed in spirit” NIV

 There’s something unexplainable that happens when we give our life to Christ, a divine exchange that happens when we encounter Him

 To pick up our cross to follow Him as He transforms us and changes our daily habits, a very bold and faithful thing one can ever do

 Unfortunately, with this path we choose comes with some heartbreaks and tribulations, but Jesus knew these would happen

 John 16v33 ESV “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart, I have overcome the world.”

 And that’s why He encourages us to remain strong in our faith regardless of the circumstances that we face because He overcame the world when He died on that cross.

 Regardless of the situation you are going through, please trust and believe that God is with you

 He alone understands what you are going through even though at times it may feel like His quiet and taken His hand of your life

Because of the loneliness you may feel that may sometimes build some frustration and depression

To the person reading this right now, I really feel it would be selfish of me to say that I know what you’re going through because I’ve been there

 let’s face it, no one ever knows the true emotions of someone’s heart except our Lord and savior

But all I can tell you is God knows how you feel and You can talk to Him about everything you’re going through.

So, I stand with you in prayer and written down some prayers you can use to whichever situation you may be going through.

PRAYER FOR THE PERSON WHO’S BROKEN BY LIFE’S CHALLENGES

Lord, I come before your throne because I’m in a dark place in my life and

I feel empty and broken, Lord my life feels like I mess right now and each

And every day, I feel like giving up on myself and life in general. I am

Overpowered by shame and feel insignificant to your kingdom right now because

Of the challenges I’m going through, and so I ask that you release me from

All this and help me begin to see myself the way you see me regardless of

What I’m going through, I ask that you give me the strength and courage

To begin to believe in myself again and trust that this season will only

Make me stronger and realize who I am in your kingdom, thank you for

Always loving me and comforting me and most importantly, thank you

For never giving up on me, even when I give up on myself, it is in your

Son Jesus Christ, I ask all this

                              AMEN

PRAYER FOR A BROKEN RELATIONSHIP

Heavenly father, thank you for your continued grace and mercy

over me. I humbly come to your throne for you to restore my broken

relationship or set me free from it if it is your will

Thank you for your son, Jesus Christ who is the prince of peace and

who’s able to bring peace into my situation with either restoration or separation.

Lord Jesus, I ask that you give me a new start in my relationship, in all

Areas where we faced conflict bring reconciliation, help us identity our

Past mistakes and teach us how to work on them with the help of

The holy spirit, transform the bitterness and misunderstanding towards

Each other into harmony and peace and if that’s not your will help us seperate

with peace and love towards each other as brothers and sisters in Christ

thank you father for the joy that you are about to restore in my relationship

or the peace and freedom you are about to give us both in the next

chapter of our lives, it is in your son Jesus Christ I ask this

PRAYER FOR THE PERSON WHO’S LOST A LOVED ONE

Father, I approach your throne today with sadness because my pain is deep

I ask that you hold me in your loving arms Lord and comfort me because I

I’ve become so controlled by my sad emotion and I need you to release me from it.

I struggle to come to terms that (insert name/s) is/are gone but I want to find comfort in

Knowing that you took (insert name/s) so he/she/they should have the peace and joy that they

Deserve, father release me from selfish desires of thinking they would have

Been happier with me then they would with you, help me find peace in

Believing that better days of joy are coming in my life, I know you will

Mend this brokenness and emptiness that I am feeling at this moment, help

Me to rejoice even in my time of grief father and lessen this burden that I

Feel, I know that you are always with me and you love me and I trust that

He/she/they is/are in a better place; it is in your son Jesus’s name I pray

DOES GOD HEAL A BROKEN HEART?

In the book of Psalms 55vs 22 the bible tells us to “cast our burdens on the Lord and he will support us, God will never let the righteous be shaken” ESV

This simply encourages us to turn to the Lord in our time of brokenness because only He can heal us

However I must note that God will only heal what we reveal to Him

Going before His alter will require a lot of vulnerability and honesty as we reveal our pain to Him

 However, it is also our job to remember that every healing stage for every person is different, while some may take months others may take years or even decades

 the key is to exercise patience with ourselves and most importantly trust that God will heal us as He promised in Psalms 147 vs 3 which encourages us that “He heals the broken hearted and binds up their wounds” NIV

So, in whatever situation you are going through pray this prayer and I stand with you in faith knowing that God will heal you

LORD, PLEASE HEAL MY BROKEN HEART

Lord, I come to you with an open heart and open arms because I am struggling to let go

Of this brokenness and heaviness that I am feeling, but I know you are my refuge, give

Me a new heart of acceptance and forgiveness the same heart Jesus had towards His enemies

Release my hard heart Lord and teach me to walk in freedom and acceptance over things

I can’t change and increase my faith in knowing that only you have the power to change them

And I know this can only happen if I first forgive myself for allowing the pulpit of the

Enemy to take hold of my life and speak things that were not true about my circumstances

I believe that you are the healer and you will heal me from all the brokenness I’m feeling

and help me stand Strong when I face obstacles in the future

It is in your son Jesus Christ I pray

So sad to know that someone is reading this right now broken about a situation, wondering if God has removed His hand off your life

The burden you have right now too heavy to carry by yourself, at times searching to all parts of the world trying to find an answer as to why it had to happen to you

 I understand because I’ve been there

 But trust me when I say that what may feel like a silent treatment from God is really just a season to make you stronger

He hears you and more than anyone He understands exactly how you feel and what you’re going through

 As you have searched for many ways to find answers to your situation, how about starting with a prayer for whatever you may be going through

 Just stand strong and lean closely towards Him and His promises over your life.

And always remember, through Jesus Christ, all things are possible
