6 BENEFITS OF EMBRACING PURITY

Sex!!, the beautiful gift that the Lord has blessed the earth with, even more especially the human race. Why is it beautiful you may ask?

Because He has given us the responsibility to procreate and advance His kingdom through our offspring

And also, because He has used the gift of sex to help us bond physically with our husband or wife, YES!! ONLY people who are in a marital covenant

Which leads me to the main topic of this blog post, the benefits of waiting to have sex till then, but just before this, it’s also important to know that just as God uses sex to advance His kingdom

The devil also uses it to advance his kingdom. Sex had between a man and a woman in a marriage covenant is the only sex that God approves of

Genesis 2vs24 NIV “That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife and they become one flesh”

Now the devil will make it seem like sex before marriage isn’t a big deal, but the bible warns us in

1 Corinthians 6vs 18 NIV to “Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body

This simply tells us that sex outside of God’s intended plan really is self-harm against ourselves unlike other sins

Because with other sins, others also do get affected with the consequences of our actions ( like stealing, murder etc..)

But with sexual immorality, it becomes a self distraction with our relationship with God and purpose here on this earth

Because it brings about clouded judgement over the person we choose to lay with and really makes us think we are in love when we are just lusting over the person

And it also opens doors of always wanting to feed the desire, so much so that we become slaves to our own bodies and lose self-control of it

Having that sex is sin against ourselves, and sin makes us impure, it then makes it hard for the Holy Spirit to live freely in us and for us to hear Him clearly because of how other spirits are dwelling in us

Oh yes!! sex is also a spiritual encounter and that is why we are to be careful of who we choose to sleep with because not everyone has the Holy spirit living in them

The bible in 1 Corinthians 6 vs 19-20 NIV explains that “Do you know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your bodies”.

And thus, choosing to honor God with your body may be one of the best decisions, you will ever make.

How so?

Here are six benefits among many that come with embracing purity and choosing to have sex only when you are married

IT IS EASIER TO SEE THE RED FLAGS IN SOMEONE QUICKLY

Since the Holy Spirit is now living in us when we choose to walk with God and embrace purity. He will be able to speak to us and we will be able to hear him clearly

Having the Holy Spirt in us also means that He is able to help us identify people that carry Godly spirits and people that carry distraction spirits that will lead as to sin and eventually death

And the Holy Spirit will in turn give us the power of self-control and make is easier for us to turn away from the situation, because remember, one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit is self-control

UNWANTED PREGANCY AND DISEASES

The worst thing you can ever do to a child is have them out of wedlock and one of the parents (which in most cases is the man) not want to take care of them or even worse want nothing to do with them

The situation brings about issues for your child and even worse birth a continued cycle of unwanted pregnancy in your generation (generational curses)

Children thrive in both present and loving parent households, and if you have never experienced that, you at least owe your children a better life

By honoring God with your body so that He gives you the perfect suiter for marriage that will bring you peace and safety

And not only that, we now are living in a generation where sex is glorified more than ever before

The glorification of one-night stands and multiple partners has led to an increase in sexually transmitted diseases

As children of God, it is very important for us not to conform to the patterns of this world, Romans 12vs 2, choose purity and watch how God blesses your generation

GROWS THE FRUIT OF PATIENCE IN YOUR LIFE

Waiting on God requires patience and God promised us in the book of Isaiah 40 vs 31 NIV that “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not get weary; they will walk and not faint

The fact that you choose to wait on God will make you stronger in your spiritual life as it will teach you to not settle for the fast-paced life and wait on God to give you the best

There is a process in God’s kingdom, He knows that when things come easy and fast for us

We shall not appreciate them as much, and maybe not even be mature enough for them at the time we want them to manifest

It is important to know that for every gift/ blessing that the Lord gives us, it is because He knows and trusts that we are mature enough to understand the weight that it carries and are able to use it for His glory, yes, this also includes Marriage and sex

REDUCES STRESS AND ANXIETY

When you are indulging in sexual immorality, it brings about worries from if the partner is cheating on you, to pregnancy and disease scares.

These are irrelevant things that a child of God shouldn’t be worried about because for one

The man that God has for you will never bring about stress and worry as he plans on honoring you and more importantly

Honoring your body because he knows that it brings glory to the kingdom of God

He wouldn’t even think of cheating on you because he knows that in you, he finds purpose to advance God’s kingdom

And even more sweet, he surely knows that you are the GOOD thing that God has blessed him with and in you he shall find favor with God Proverbs 18 vs 22

And with knowing all this, you will be able to focus more on growing your relationship God through prayer, reading His word and fasting, instead of stressing

EASIER FOR GOD TO USE YOU

Like I mentioned, sex outside marriage brings about distraction in one’s life and if you choose to surrender your body to God, you will be more focused to do things that please Him

This includes finding your calling and purpose and really just discovering who you are in Christ and preach to others about His kingdom while being an example of someone who follows His ways as well

This will in turn grow you spiritually and also help you grow a very strong relationship with God that the enemy will find hard to break you from

TEACHES YOU TO BE FAITHFUL TO YOUR FUTURE SPOUSE

Embracing purity just doesn’t end in your singleness, it is a lifetime journey. And since it has been strengthened in your single season

 You will be able to carry it on even when you are married. The devil doesn’t stop tempting us when we get married, if he did, adultery would not be a struggle in marriages

And this is why God wants us to be pure and faithful to our partners from the dating stage because He knows how hard the devil loves to distort marriages

But if we begin with the ways of God during courtship and put Him at the center of it, He will always help us, cover us, bless our marriage and make it fruitful in more ways than we could imagine

So, to the girl or guy out there that’s thinking it’s too late and you have already lost their virginity, I am here to tell you this

God doesn’t focus much on your virginity more than He does about your purity. Don’t get me wrong, this doesn’t mean that we first need to lose our virginity to fully surrender our purity to God

He indeed want’s us to keep our virginity so it’s easier for us not to have a tented experience with sex, but again, He also knew that not everyone was going to manage to do so

The bible tells us that “The sexual immoral and adulterers among many other sinners will not inherit the kingdom of God” 1 Corinthians 6 vs 9 NIV

But the bible also encourages us in 1 Corinthians 6 vs 11 NIV “And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God

So, it’s not to late to surrender your purity and walk with God, do it now and watch how He transforms your life, and cleans your soul from all the sexual experiences you had and gives you the life that you truly deserve that will being glory to His kingdom
